Priyesh Ranjan, CEO

Priyesh is responsible for leading, directing, and executing ShaleApps' strategy and growth initiatives. Previously Priyesh was the President of ShaleApps, responsible for developing the corporate and business strategy to develop digital solutions for the oil and natural gas industry.  Prior to joining ShaleApps, Priyesh held positions of increasing leadership at Halliburton and Baker Hughes across strategy, business development, technology solutions, and operations.  He focused on the areas of digital oilfields, unconventional asset evaluation and development, reservoir and asset monitoring, and renewable energy.  Priyesh has also led start-up companies in the past.  He has authored several patents and thought leadership publications in the space of digital energy.  Priyesh is an Electrical Engineer from the University of Oklahoma.

 

Greg Lems, CTO

Greg is responsible for all software and product development at ShaleApps. His background as a technologist cuts across numerous verticals including eCommerce, health care, automotive production and organic food delivery. Prior to ShaleApps, Greg was CTO at Door To Door Organics, a private equity-backed national food subscription service where he developed innovative supply-chain technology to speed up production and increase accuracy. He also directed the design and implementation of systems that enabled online marketplace Clickbank to realize revenues of $450MM. Greg was recipient of the Denver Business Journal's "CIO of the Year" award in 2011 and has a BSEE from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute.

 

C.B. Lackey, COO 

C.B. is responsible for overseeing ShaleApps operations, safety management and practices. He brings to ShaleApps over 40 years of experience in the energy industry, including nearly 35 years with EOG Resources. He held positions of increasing responsibility at EOG, finishing up his career at EOG managing all water handling operations in EOG’s Denver Division, which included the Williston, Powder River, and DJ basins. C.B. began his career with Halliburton in Texas. He holds a B.S. from the University of Kansas.

 

Daniel Huang, CFO

Daniel is responsible for all finance and accounting related functions of ShaleApps. He previously served as the Vice President of Finance at Nuverra Environmental Solutions and was responsible for mergers and acquisitions, financial planning and analysis, and financing and treasury functions. Before joining Nuverra, he was an investment professional at H.I.G. Capital, focused on the firm’s debt/equity, special situations and corporate lending strategies. Prior to that he worked at the D. E. Shaw group and Jefferies & Company’s Energy Investment Banking group. Daniel received his B.S. degree in Mathematics, B.A. degree in Economics and B.B.A. degree from the University of Texas at Austin.

 

Sean Hawkins, CLO

Sean is responsible for all legal and related functions of ShaleApps. Prior to joining ShaleApps, Sean served as Vice President, Deputy General Counsel and Assistant Corporate Secretary of Nuverra Environmental Solutions, Inc., where he oversaw all legal issues relating to operations, including managing Nuverra’s customer contracts and litigation.

Prior to joining Nuverra, Sean was an attorney with Thompson & Knight LLP in the firm’s Dallas, Texas office, where he practiced in the areas of finance and commercial real estate, focusing on complex loan transactions throughout the United States. Prior to practicing with Thompson & Knight, Sean was an attorney with Vinson & Elkins LLP in the firm’s Dallas, Texas office.

Sean received his Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology from Brigham Young University. Sean received his Juris Doctorate from the University of Pennsylvania Law School and a Certificate in Study of Business and Public Policy from the Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania.

 

Sam McLaughlin, VP of Product

Sam is responsible for leading ShaleApps’ product development efforts. He has played a pivotal role in ShaleApps’ development efforts since ShaleApps’ inception in 2012. Prior to joining ShaleApps, Sam attended West Virginia University in Morgantown, WV where he founded several software consulting companies centered around mobile and web development for clients ranging from Fortune 500 companies and nation-wide nonprofits to local business and entrepreneurs. While interviewing for YCombinator’s Summer 2012 program, Sam developed an interest in smart software in the Oil & Gas industry. His company was then retained to build what would later become ShaleApps.

 

Adam Klenk, VP of Product Operations

Adam is responsible for product operations at ShaleApps. Previously he was the Vice President of Integration with his focus being on the implementation of the ShaleApps system at the E&P and vendor levels. Since the inception of ShaleApps Adam has held the responsibility of sales, project management, and feature set creation. He holds a B.A. from West Virginia University.

 

Mark Rueff, VP of Integration

Mark is responsible for implementing data integrations between ShaleApps, E&P, trucking companies and billing portals. Before joining ShaleApps, he worked for Nuverra Environmental Solutions managing ERP workflow customizations and creating management reporting tools. Mark spent 10 years as a business consultant working with small to mid size companies providing ERP, supply chain, marketing and business intelligence services. In addition, he is certified for SAP Business One as an implementation and pre-sales consultant. Mark also has over 14 years of experience in managing business analytics, ERP integration, and supply chain functions, including work for Burger King and Boston Market. He holds a B.A. from the University of Alabama.

 

Andrew Spaur, GM - Permian Basin

Andrew is responsible for managing and maintaining the day to day operations in the Permian Basin. Prior to joining ShaleApps Andrew served as the Director of Hauling for Shalewater Solutions, which he oversaw a fleet of fluid hauling trucks working in Ohio, Pennsylvania and West Virginia. While at Shalewater, Andrew also managed 10 filtration stations that specialized in the filtering of fresh and produced water utilized on hydraulic fracturing sites. In addition, he has experience with water treatment facilities that specialize in the produced water reclamation process. Andrew also served for 6 years as a Corporal in the United States Army. 

 

Jerry Anderson, GM - Marcellus / Utica

Jerry is responsible for managing and maintaining the daily operations in the Northeast Region. Prior to joining ShaleApps Jerry managed multiple water-related projects for Shalewater Solutions. He had a main focus and expertise in filtration, water treatment, and dewatering. Throughout his time at Shalewater he also was responsible for managing the day to day trucking activities for E&P companies in the Marcellus/Utica and Permian Basins.

 

Laura Brenner, Director of Talent and Culture

Laura is responsible for building and implementing ShaleApps’ Talent and Culture initiatives. Along with a passion for all things People, Laura brings her experience recruiting top talent and supporting & driving change in Technology Startups, Logistics, and Trucking companies to the ShaleApps team. She holds a B.A. in Psychology from Southern Illinois University, Carbondale and is sitting for her Professional in Human Resources (PHR) certification.
