Golden Gate has a diverse portfolio of companies with approximately US $15 billion in committed capital. Their companies are in industrial manufacturing, software, semiconductors, retail, and financial services. Many of their retail companies are household names.

Golden Gate's investor base is large and stable, focusing on long-term growth. Investors include several prominent universities, charitable foundations, international governments, and international banks.

Rajeev Amara

Mr. Amara founded and oversees Golden Gate Capital’s Industrials Investing Practice, which comprises 12 Companies aggregating to over $4 billion of revenues. The philosophy of the Industrials Practice is to invest in competitively differentiated market leaders and aggressively grow their earnings by prioritizing innovation and capital allocation.  He graduated from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania and serves on the Board of the University’s Graduate School of Education, one of the top ranked educational research Schools in the world.

 

Jeff Hibbeler

Jeff’s career has spanned thirty years and started in the late 1980’s with Barnett Shale player Mitchell Energy.  He then spent twenty years at BJ Services Company, culminating in a role as Corporate Officer – VP Technology and Logistics.  Jeff went on to hold executive management roles at Baker Hughes and Halliburton.  In 2012, Jeff founded and was named CEO of Independence Oilfield Chemicals (IOC), which was acquired in 2014 for over $200MM.  In 2015, Jeff retired from IOC.  He is currently on the board at Golden Gate Capital portfolio companies Hillstone Environmental Partners and ShaleApps.  Jeff received a B.S. in Geology from Texas A&M University.  He has also been an active author and committee member for the Society of Petroleum Engineers, where he has published over a dozen papers.  He has also been published in Oil and Gas Journal and other industry journals.

 

Bernhard Nann

Bernhard Nann is an Operating Executive with Golden Gate Capital focused on the software, data analytics and information services sectors.  Most recently, Mr. Nann served as Chief Executive Officer of Opera Solutions, a global provider of scalable advanced big data analytics and data science solutions.  While at Opera, Mr. Nann focused its strategy and materially improved its operations and profitability.  Prior to joining Opera, Mr. Nann served as President, Operations and Technology and Chief Technology Officer for IRI, a leading provider of big data, predictive analytics and forward-looking insights for consumer packaged goods, over-the-counter health care, retail and media companies, where he led a major transition to the next generation of enabling technology.  Prior to IRI, Mr. Nann was Senior Vice President and Chief Technology Officer at Fair Isaac Corporation (FICO).  Additionally, Mr. Nann was Founder and CEO of NAREX Inc., one of the first Software as a Service (SaaS) analytics firms, which was acquired by FICO in 2003.  Earlier in his career, Mr. Nann served as Director, International Operations and Director General, Comcred S.A. at TRW Inc.

 

Jay Parkinson

Jay is the Chief Executive Officer of Hillstone Environmental Partners, a company focused on providing water infrastructure solutions for the oil and gas industry, which is backed by Golden Gate Capital.  Prior to joining ShaleApps, Jay was an Operating Executive with Golden Gate Capital focused on investment opportunities in the Energy Services, Infrastructure and Exploration and Production segments. He previously served as Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of Nuverra Environmental Solutions, a company focused primarily on providing full-cycle environmental, waste management and recycling solutions to the upstream energy sector. Prior to joining Nuverra, Jay was a Managing Director in the Energy Investment Banking group at Jefferies and Company, where he focused on upstream unconventional oil and gas. While at Jefferies he advised on a number of mergers & acquisitions, joint ventures and financing transactions in the energy sector. Jay holds an M.B.A. from Tulane University’s A.B. Freeman School of Business, an M.S. from the London School of Economics, and a B.A. from Georgetown University.

 

Priyesh Ranjan

Priyesh is the Chief Executive Officer of ShaleApps, a company focused on providing digital solutions for the oil and gas industry, which is backed by Golden Gate Capital. Previously Priyesh was the President of ShaleApps, responsible for developing the corporate and business strategy to develop digital solutions for the oil and natural gas industry.  Prior to joining ShaleApps, Priyesh held positions of increasing leadership at Halliburton and Baker Hughes across strategy, business development, technology solutions, and operations.  He focused on the areas of digital oilfields, unconventional asset evaluation and development, reservoir and asset monitoring, and renewable energy.  Priyesh has also led start-up companies in the past.  He has authored several patents and thought leadership publications in the space of digital energy.  Priyesh is an Electrical Engineer from the University of Oklahoma.

 

Shyam Ravindran

Shyam Ravindran joined Golden Gate Capital in 2008. Within the Industrials Investing Practice, he focuses on the Aerospace & Defense, Energy, Transportation, and General Manufacturing sectors. Prior to joining Golden Gate Capital, he worked in the San Francisco office of Bain & Company. Mr. Ravindran has a BS in Management Science and Engineering with a minor in Computer Science from Stanford University. He serves on the board of directors of several GGC portfolio companies, including Hillstone Environmental Partners, ShaleApps, Tronair, and GAL Manufacturing.
